However, on this (his second valve inspect), I found nine valves just outside the maximum clearance. So, this now became a much bigger job.

www.progressivesuspension.com Skeefoo recently bought a KLR650, and when he came for a visit we decided to install one of the extra sets of forks springs I received from Progressive Suspension. They are super easy to install, just take off the cap, pull the old spring and spacer out. Cut the spacer in half, and drop everything back down the hole. Do one side at a time and you won't even need to put the bike up on blocks. After testing out the difference between stock and the aftermarket springs we came to the conclusion that they feel very similar. Because a large portion of the aftermarket spring is exactly like the stock spring. The aftermarket spring begins to work it's magic when you are really hitting some heavy bumps, and compress the spring to that final bit which saves you from bottoming out. Upgrading the KLR's suspension is one of the first things people do to their bike. If your gonna spend a few months living out of your bike you should probably do everything you can to make it as comfortable as possible.

**Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on a motorcycle. Manuals can be found at the dealer and online.** This video is about inspecting and adjusting the final drive belt on a Harley Davidson Road Glide. I used a tool called a Belt Tension Gauge, and it is important to transfer the force required to compress the gauge to the drive belt. It might appear that I am not doing that in the video, but I am. I had to hold the tool the way I did to prevent it from falling over. Harley Davidson sells the Belt Tension Gauge or you can find an aftermarket version of the same thing online. I think 10 lbs is pretty standard for checking the deflection on belt final drives, but check your owners manual. The Belt Tension Gauge originally had support arms on the part that made contact with the belt, and it looked similar to a football goal post. I had to cut them off because the tool would not fit between the plastic shield that covers the final drive belt. Its ok if you cut them off, just make sure you center the gauge on the belt before applying pressure. Belts are my favorite type of final drive on a motorcycle because it lasts longer than a chain, is quieter than a chain, requires less maintenance than a chain and is more efficient than a drive shaft. This video is a walk-through/tutorial on how to mount a new motorcycle tire. I bought a new tire way back in a video Shopping with Skeefoo, and I'm just now getting around to installing it. This was the first time I'd ever mounted my own tire. I think it's one of those things a lot of riders are afraid to do, and prefer to spend the money having a professional do it. I used a couple of cheap tire levers (amzn.to and had my new rubber mounted, tube back in, and wheel on the bike in only about 30 minutes. This certainly isn't rocket science. You just need a couple of levers and a bit of determination and you will be changing your own tires in no time at all. Save your money, ride more. One of the more difficult parts of the install was getting the valve stem of the tube back through the rim. I had to monkey with it for quite a while. I've since had it over 60 mph a few times and haven't noticed any vibrations from the tire. Having the proper tools, and knowing how to change/repair a tire on the side of the road is a skill every adventure rider should know. I road from Utah to Panama on my BMW and had no clue what to do if I got a flat tire. I didn't even have the tools to take the wheel off. Thankfully luck was on my side during that ride, and I didn't have any problems.
This video is a walk-through/tutorial on how to mount a new motorcycle tire. I bought a new tire way back in a video Shopping with Skeefoo, and I'm just now getting around to installing it. This was the first time I'd ever mounted my own tire. I think it's one of those things a lot of riders are afraid to do, and prefer to spend the money having a professional do it. I used a couple of cheap tire levers (amzn.to and had my new rubber mounted, tube back in, and wheel on the bike in only about 30 minutes. This certainly isn't rocket science. You just need a couple of levers and a bit of determination and you will be changing your own tires in no time at all. Save your money, ride more. One of the more difficult parts of the install was getting the valve stem of the tube back through the rim. I had to monkey with it for quite a while. Lacing a Rear 32 Spoke Wheel, 3 Cross | How to Build a Bicycle Wheel Video Clips. Duration : 8.48 Mins.
In this tutorial we show you how to lace the drive side spokes of a rear bicycle wheel. It's important to remember that on the rear wheel the drive side spokes are slightly shorter than the non-drive side, due to the dish of the wheel. You should also prep your spokes with linseed oil or spoke prep before lacing. When lacing the drive side spokes start at the spoke hole next to the valve stem hole. Make sure it is a hole that is drilled towards the drive side of the hub. Most rims have slightly offset drilling, so the spoke holes will angle slightly toward one side of the rim or the other. When lacing, each set of spokes will be placed every fourth hole. So when lacing the outy drive side, you place a spoke every fourth hole on the rim, with three holes in between.

I love my Cannondales. I think they are the finest bikes on the planet, but boy oh boy do Headshok's have issues. They had them back when I was riding Caffeine's and they still haven't fixed them. When oh when Cannondale are you going to make these right? Step up to the plate and be the quality bicycle company you've been in the past. Put some engineers on re-designing this so it isn't a piece of crap. In my opinion, when working, no other shock comes close to being as good, but you're lucky if you get a year of riding out of one before it craps out.
